Early Childhood Developmental Milestones

For ease of reference, the early childhood developmental milestones have been categorized into different age groups for the following areas : gross motor, fine motor, language, social behavior and play.

 

Gross Motor and Fine Motor Development

Take off shoes and socks; may have bowel control; still wet; imitate simple daily activities such as water the plant

Attempt to spoon-feed self; indicate toilet need; dry by day; curious and demanding for attention; temper tantrums; little awareness of danger

Feed self without much spillage; wash and dry hands; dry by day and night; put on pants, shoes and socks; is active in make-belief play

Brush teeth; dress with minimal help; independent and strong-willed
