After nine months of carrying your baby
inside, you must be elated to see him finally. Expectedly, your family
members and friends also share your joy. Here are some novel ways to
trumpet the good news (i.e. make birth announcement) and to welcome the
new baby :
1. Calendar
Pocket calendars with the new baby’s photo printed on them are great as
they can be easily carried about in purses and wallets
2. Digital news
Cell phones these days also double up as digital camera, so snap away
and have the images sent out with a simple text message
3. E-cards
Save time by going electronic with your announcements! You can even
attach a picture in your new baby card
4. Home movie
Use your video camera to direct your own family movie and make copies
of the DVD to be sent especially to distant relatives
5. Key rings
Have the baby’s name, date and time of birth engraved on key ring and
distribute to relatives and friends
6. Magazines
Most parenting magazines have a section where you can announce your
baby’s arrival. It will be nice if this is coupled with your baby’s
details and pictures
7. Name cards
Print cute name cards with cartoon characters to be given out to
visitors. Who can forget a baby who has a calling card with the
designation “Spreading love”?
8. Newspapers
Put a small advertisement in the daily is a great way to announce the
baby’s arrival. This is especially relevant if you have a large family
spread throughout the country in different states. Do remember to frame
the newspaper cutting as a precious keepsake!

Call up your favorite radio station and dedicate a song to your
newborn. Record it down when it is aired!

Print t-shirts with your baby’s photo that says “Proudly presents ---

available

Create a blog just for your baby and sending the link to everyone in
your e-mail address book.
