Homemade Pasta with Minced Meat and Tomato

(serves 2)


Ingredients

30 g cooked pasta, chopped into small pieces
12 g (1 tablespoon) lean chicken/beef meat, minced finely
5 g (1/2 tablespoon) chopped tomato, skin and seeds removed
10 g (2 teaspoons) cauliflower florets, chopped finely
375 mL (1 1/2 cup) boiled chicken stock


Method

1. Boil stock. Add in chopped tomato, cauliflower and minced meat.
2. When the meat is cooked and the vegetables are tender, add in pasta and bring to boil.
3. Let it cool slightly before serving.

calories = 72 kcal
fat = 0.5 g
protein = 11.8 g
calcium = 92 mg
iron = 1.2 mg


Tips! for the Parents

To remove tomato skin, first scald the tomato in boiling water. You can replace the cauliflower with any other type of vegetable.

The complementary feeding period is the ideal time to start getting your child used to a variety of vegetables.


All shapes and colors - baby will love the taste of tomatoes, carrots and potatoes. Cut into small cubes and boil until soft. If necessary, mash or grate them.


Leafy greens - spinach, cabbage, mustard leaves can be cooked and chopped finely. Remove the stems from mustard leaves before cooking.


Peas and beans - French beans, long beans, peas and snow peas provide variety. Steam until tender and slice or chop thinly.
