Shapes Learning for Toddlers

Shapes learning should be one of the earliest learning activities for toddlers. Teaching toddler about shapes can be a lot of fun.

Shapes Teaching

(a) Triangles
Tell him that triangles have three sides. Go around the house and look for three-sided objects. You can cut out triangles from hard cardboard paper and have your child paste them in a collage.

(b) Rectangles and Squares
Tell your child that a rectangle and a square are four-sided shapes. Cut our paper rectangles using recycle paper. Show your child how to fold them into two and show him hoe to turn the rectangle into a square.

(c) Circles
Show your child how to use a can or a cylindrical glass bottle to trace out a circle. He can then point out the circular things around the house.

Other shapes include the Ovals and Hexagons.
