Boop boop (social skills,
0-3 months)
* This is best played while changing
diapers for your baby.
* Lay him on his back, touch the baby’s body in different places (for
example, his tummy, belly button, nipples, groin, chest) and make the
sound “boop” with each touch. Do not tickle him hard.
* Your baby may smile each time you touch him and eagerly anticipating
your next touch in a new part of his body.
* Remember to name the part of the body you are touching when you make
the “boop” sound.
Smile (social skills, 0-3
months)
* There is nothing more delightful than
to see your baby smile. This game will encourage your baby to smile.
* Place your baby on your lap while rocking him back and forth in your
arms very gently. Softly stroke the skin near his mouth with your index
finger and say “smile”.
* If he smiles at you, praise him and let him know how please you are.
Another baby (social skills, 0-3 months)
* Sit with your baby in a comfortable
chair.
* Arrange interesting toys in front of your baby. Tell him about all
the things he sees. Then prop up an unbreakable mirror in front of him
so that he can see ‘another baby’.
* While he lies flat on his tummy, his world is limited. While he is
sitting, he can use his hands to explore his surroundings.
Mirror fun (social
skills, 0-3 months)
* Place an unbreakable mirror on the side
of your baby’s cot.
* Talk to your baby and when you are sure that he hears your voice, tap
your finger on the mirror to get his attention.
* The mirror will give the baby something stimulating to look at while
lying in the cot.
