Rain, rain go away
(bonding, 9-12 months)
* This is best played in the bathroom
just before a bath proper.
* Prepare a plastic bottle (for example, milk bottle) and punch holes
in it.
* Show your baby how to fill up the bottle with water and hold it in
the air to make it ‘rain’.
* Your baby will be delighted with this game as he sees the water
pouring out from the holes you punched.
* Sing “Rain, rain go away, come again another day, little (baby’s
name) wants to play, rain, rain, go away.”
Sticky game (bonding, 9-12 months)
* Tape a large piece of contact paper to
the floor with the sticky side up.
* Place some of your baby’s toys on it.
* Ask him to pull off the toys. He will be amazed at how difficult it
is and will feel satisfied when he can do it.
* Try getting your baby to put his hands onto it. He will have to exert
some effort before he can get his hands off.
* If your baby is walking, try to get him to walk on the sticky paper.
He will have to pull his legs up high in order to get each foot off the
paper. Give him constant encouragement.
