Peek-A-Boo (bonding, 6-9
months)
* Place your baby in his baby seat in a
room.
* Walk out of the room while he is watching you. Then come right back
into the room and say “Peek-a-boo! (baby’s name)” in a lively voice.
* Your baby will be delighted and anticipated your return.
* Repeat this several times.
* Alternative: put his favorite toy in his lap and play the game again,
this time saying “peek-a-boo” to the toy.
* This will teach him trust and bonding as he will learn that you will
come back for him after leaving.
Baby Massages (bonding, 6-9 months)
* Massaging your baby is one of the most
rewarding ways to bond with your baby. It can also stimulate weight
gain.
* Just like adults, babies collect tensions and release them by crying.
Massage helps babies to release tension and also helps babies to fall
asleep easier.
* Rub some baby oil on your hands until you feel the warmth. Gently
massage your baby’s chest and shoulders, arms and legs. When you come
to his tummy, massage gently from his right bottom most corners
vertically up and across just under his rib cage, then massage all the
way down to his left most bottom.
* Say “I love you” while you massage him.
Little Mouse Goes to Town (bonding, 6-9 months)
* Circle your finger on your baby’s palm
and say
"Little mouse, little mouse
Go round and round the house
Little mouse, little mouse
Go round and round to the town" (walk your finger up your baby’s arm and
tickle him under his chin)
* Alternately, you can play this with his toes and walk your finger up
his leg to his tummy.
