Loving kisses (body
awareness, 0-3 months)
* This game is best played when you dress
the baby or change his diaper.
* Say “I love your cheek, cheek, cheek, cheek” and kiss him on the
cheek.
* Say “I love your tummy, tummy, tummy, tummy” and kiss him on the
tummy.
* Name other parts of the body and kiss him on that part of the body
each time.
* This will soon teach your baby to become aware of his body parts as
well as the love you express.
Where, oh where (body awareness, 0-3 months)
* This game will help your baby to
identify parts of his body by touching them.
* Say “Where, oh where, are (your baby’s name) toes? Then bring his
little hands to touch his toes.
* Then say “Where, oh where, are (your baby’s name) ears? Again, bring
his little hands to touch both his ears.
* You can go on with different parts of his body.
What is that (body awareness, 0-3 months)
* Sit with your baby in your lap, squeeze
a squeaky toy.
* Place the toy in your baby’s hand. He will grasp it as a natural
reflex and will be most surprised when it squeaks.
* Repeat the process, keep giving him the toy and soon he will realise
that it is his hand making the toy squeak.
